Terms of service

The short version: your documents stay yours, check important results before you rely on them, and use LexaOCR lawfully.

1. Agreement

LexaOCR is provided by Arabian AI Lab, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”). It turns scanned and digital documents into editable text, Word files, audio and related outputs. By creating an account or using LexaOCR you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you use LexaOCR for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.

2. Your account

You need a Lexa account, shared with LexaTranslate, and you must be at least 16 years old. Keep your sign-in details safe; you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think it has been misused.

3. Your content

  • You keep all rights in the documents you upload and in the results we produce from them.
  • You give us a limited permission to store, copy and process your documents only to provide the service to you, including through our service providers.
  • You confirm that you have the right to upload each document, including any copyright in it and any personal data about other people in it.
  • Documents are deleted automatically 30 days after upload. Download what you want to keep; we cannot recover deleted documents.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use LexaOCR to:

  • process content that is unlawful in the UAE or where you are, or that you have no right to use;
  • infringe anyone's copyright, privacy or other rights;
  • forge, alter or misuse identity documents;
  • overload, probe or attack the service, or get around its limits;
  • copy the service or use its outputs to build a competing OCR product.

If you believe content processed through LexaOCR infringes your rights, write to hello@arabianailab.com. We may suspend use that breaks these rules.

5. Accuracy

OCR is never perfect. LexaOCR shows you the words it is unsure about, but it can still make mistakes, including in words it marks as verified. You are responsible for checking results before relying on them, especially for legal, official, medical or financial use.

6. Plans and payment

LexaOCR is free during the beta, and beta features may change or end. When paid plans start, prices, page limits and renewal terms will be shown on the pricing page before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time; you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. If something goes wrong with a document, tell us within 14 days and we will refund the pages or the month. We will give at least 30 days' notice before a price change affects you.

7. Our rights

The LexaOCR software, design, agents and brand belong to Arabian AI Lab. These terms do not give you any right in them beyond using the service.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep LexaOCR available but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve or change features. If we stop the service, we will give at least 30 days' notice so you can download your results.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, LexaOCR is provided “as is”, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 100 if you paid nothing. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit or data you did not download before deletion. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law, including UAE consumer protection law.

10. Ending

You may stop using LexaOCR and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For important changes we will tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using LexaOCR after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can close your account.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the UAE. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any dispute; otherwise the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep any rights your local law gives you.

13. General

These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about LexaOCR. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over LexaOCR, and will tell you if we do. Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. If these terms are translated, the English version prevails.
